defeat last week in the Section X
semifinals and dished Section VII
Champion Ticonderoga a solid defeat,
54-32, in the New York State Region

points in the first quarter alone.
Keck wound up with 11 points while
Kelsey Manchester dealt 10 points
for the win. Jocelyn Barber led the
Sentinels with nine points.
Brushton-Moira advances to play

HARRISVILLE
43, WESTPORT 39
March 10:
In their first New York State
playoff appearance since the early
1990's, the Harrisville Lady Pirates

Section VII champions in the State
Region II semifinal at SUNY
Plattsburgh. The Pirates trailed
32-28 through three quarters.
However, the Pirates battled back to
deadlock at 35- 35. With 3:06
remaining, Harrisville’s Patty

March 21: The Harrisville Pirates'
quest for a state title fell short
as Section VI's Clymer claimed the
New York State Class D crown with a
49-35 victory at Hudson Valley
Community College. Scoring woes
haunted Harrisville early on as they
did in the semifinal game. Clymer
jumped out to a 24-9 halftime lead.
In the second half, Harrisville
limited the field goals for Clymer,
but the eventual champions made up
for it from the foul line going
18-for-29. Tournament MVP Andrea
Lictus scored 17 points with seven
coming from the foul line. Down 21
at one point in the second half,
Harrisville managed a little rally

three-pointers to close the gap to
44-32 with three minutes to play.
But Clymer had an answer for every
Harrisville charge down the stretch.
Kailyn Bentley managed 11 points for
Clymer and was named to the
All-Tournament team. Patty Coloney
and Katie Hart each scored nine
points each for Harrisville. Coloney
