POTSDAM UNBEATEN IN GIRLS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP


The Potsdam Sandstoners completed an undefeated season, capped by winning the Section X Swimming Championship by a 56-point margin.  Sophomore Sarah Roll led the Sandstoners by winning three events.  Massena finished second, Malone third and Canton fourth place.

SMITH LEADS MALONE WIN OVER GOUVERNEUR 57-32

Gouverneur and Ogdensburg competitors in the freestyle.  Malone’s Emily Smith led the freestyle events, winning the individual 50 free and the 100 free and leading Malone’s victory in the 200 freestyle team relay. Lauren McCarthy added a win in the 100 backstroke, while Macy Sylvester captured the 500 freestyle and each of them were part of a winning relay. For Gouverneur, Chandler Roberts placed first in the 100 breaststroke and swam on a winning relay.

OGDENSBURG BLUE DEVILS SWIM PAST MALONE 99-71

A Malone swimmer works the waves hard while competing in a butterfly event.  Emily Smith led Maloen with two wins -- the 100-meter freestyle and the 200 individual medley.  O.F.A. was led by Alexandra Barr's victories in the 200- and 500-meter freestyles.  The Blue Devils improved to 4-3 with the win, while Malone fell to 3-3-1.

MALONE OUTSWIMS SALMON RIVER 58-35 IN FRIDAY MEET

Malone's Macy Sylvester captured the 200 individual medley, then swam on two winning relays, the medley and freestyle to led the Huskies (3-1-1).  Salmon River fell to 3-3.

CANTON BEARS SWIM PAST EDWARDS-KNOX 100-46

SMITH ANCHORS MALONE'S SLIM 49-45 WIN VS. MASSENA


Massena and Malone swimmers hit the pool for the start of a freestyle event.  Emily Smith anchored a narrow 49-45 win for the Huskies by swimming to wins in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and the 200 individual medley. Samantha Kemp and Natalie Brand also snagged wins for the Huskies. Melissa Marlowe won two events for Massena.

POTSDAM TRIO EACH CLAIM TWO EVENTS IN WIN VS. O.F.A.


Potsdam's Michaela Bartlett exchanges congratulations with an Ogdensburg runnerup after swimming to first place in the 100-meter freestyle race.  Bartlett won two events in Tuesday's swimming meet held at Clarkson University.   Bartlett (who also won the 200 individual medley), Sabrina French and Sarah Roll each captured two events to lead the Sandstoners past the Blue Devils 102-68 to captured their fourth straight meet victory.  Ogdensburg's record fell to 2-2.  (Bob LaRue photo)  Meet Gallery

O.F.A. SINKS EDWARDS-KNOX IN SEASON OPENER 128-35

ROLL, BARTLETT WIN TWICE: POTSDAM BEATS MASSENA


Potsdam's Michaela Bartlett won the 100 freestyle and 200 medley, while Sarah Roll swam her way to first place in the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly to lead the Sandstoners' swim team to a 101-69 win over the Massena Red Raiders (1-1).  Potsdam improved to 2-0. (Mackenzie Reynolds photos)

Massena swimmers placed well in each event, however Mary-Claire Gabri was the lone first-place finisher for the
Red Raiders, winning the 100-meter backstroke.

Lots of encouragement for the competitors around the pool.

MASSENA OPENS SEASON WITH 63-30 WIN VS. SALMON

LARRIES WIN FIRST MEET VS. EDWARDS-KNOX 84-71

A St. Lawrence Central swimmer takes here turn, diving into the pool during a relay event against Edwards-Knox.  Natalie Brand won the 100-meter freestyle, Samantha Kemp captured the 100-meter butterfly and both were members of a winning relay for the Huskies (1-1).  Melissa Marlowe led the Red Raiders (2-2) by winning the 200 and 500 freestyles.
