On Final Event, Larries Capture 2008 Title

LARRIES NIP POTSDAM BY FOUR POINTS TO CLAIM TITLE


The St. Lawrence Central swim team won the overall Section X Swimming Championship by just four points over second-place Potsdam who captured the final event of the title meet.  The Larries took first-place honors in six of eleven events.  Ogdensburg, Massena and Canton took the next three places.  The Larries were ld by Emilie Norton with wins in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.  The Larries also won the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle.  Meet Gallery

POTSDAM OUTSWIMS MALONE 61-33 IN REG. SEASON FINALE

A Malone swimmer in the butterfly event.  Natalie Brand led the Huskies with two wins, placing first in the 50 and 100 freestyle events.  For Potsdam, Kelsey Rimmer won two events, while Alyssa Chambers, Sabrina French and Serenity Davis captured wins to pace the Sandstoners.

O.F.A. ENDS LARRIES' WIN STREAK AT 21, WITH 98-73 WIN


An Ogdensburg swimmer leads by just inches in a freestyle event in Friday's hotly-contested meet with St. Lawrence Central.  The Blue Devils ended the Larries' 21-meet win streak, dating to the end of the of the 2006 season, with a 98-73 win.  (Dan Bisaccio photo)  Meet Gallery

Kylie Barr won the 100 fly and 100 breast, then swam on two winning relays to lead the Blue Devils to a win over St. Lawrence in a Division I meet. Kelli Barr claimed the 200 free and 500 free, and swam on two winning relays for Ogdensburg (8-1). Emilie Norton captured the 200 IM and 200 back for the Larries (8-1).  (Details from Andy Devins)

The Blue Devils celebrated their victory after snapping St. Lawrence Central's 21-meet winning streak and pulling even with the Larries at 8-1 atop Division I.

MASSENA STRIKES EARLY TO BEAT SALMON RIVER 60-34

A Massena swimmer in the breast stroke event.  Aubrey Czajkowski led the Red Raiders to a Division II win with wins in the 50 and 100-meter freestyle events.

MASSENA CLAIMS ALL BUT 3 EVENTS IN WIN VS. COUGARS


Massena and Edwards-Knox swimmers dive into the pool for the final individual race of the day.  The Massena Red Raiders outswam the Lady Cougars, winning all but three events, in a resounding 103-55 win at Edwards-Knox on Tuesday.  The win kept Massena on top of Division II with a 4-1 record, while the Lady Cougars are still seeking their first victory.  Nicole Orlando led Massena with wins in the 200 individual medley and swam on the winning 200 medley relay team.  (Bob LaRue photo)  Meet Gallery

The winning relay team of Devine, Frego, Pesold and Burns from Massena who won the 400-meter freestyle relay with a time of 4:52.49.  E-K's top team took second with a second Massena team finishing third.

POTSDAM SWIMS BY CANTON & INTO SECOND PLACE 95-75


A Potsdam swimmer narrow leads in the 200-yard medley relay.  Kelsey Rimmer took the 200 free and 500 free, and swam on a winning relay as the Sandstoners defeated Canton 95-75. Only a length apart for the swimmers in 200-yard medley relay.  With the win, Potsdam improved to 3-1, while Canton dropped to 2-3 on the season.
 

LARRIES DEAL O.F.A. FIRST SWIM LOSS IN 63-30 VICTORY

Close four-way race in the 50 freestyle was won by Anna Brothers who took three other events, including the 100 breaststroke and part of the winning 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.  Kelsey Rimmer led the Sandstoners with wins in the 500 and 200 freestyle events.
 

OGDENSBURG OVERWHELMS WILDCATS IN SWIM OPENER

The breast stroke event brought a tight finish between swimmers from Canton (gold) and Malone's Franklin Academy.  In Friday's meet at St. Lawrence University, the Bears bested the Huskies 97-73 to improve their record to
