ST. LAWRENCE DOMINATES IN WINNING SWIM CHAMPIONSHIP


The St. Lawrence Central Lady Larries, under Coach Katie Brown dominated the Section X Championships held on Saturday at SUNY Potsdam.  The Larries topped the field of nine schools with 329 points.  Ogdensburg finished a distant second place with 196, with Malone third at 160 points.  The Larries finished the regular season 12-0, before capturing the Section X Title, as well.  (Eric Foote/Bob LaRue photos)

LARRIES FINISH UNBEATEN & SET RECORD IN 200M RELAY


A St. Lawrence Central swimmer leads by a half-length in the backstroke competition, on the final day of the regular season in Section X.  St. Lawrence Central beat Potsdam 74-20  on Friday to complete an unblemished 12-0 season.  Section finals are November 3rd  (Harold Leroux photo) Meet Gallery

A Larries' swimmer in the breaststroke.  Anna Brothers, Jocelyn Lavigne, Emily Lynch and Abbey Thompson established a new Section X record with a powerful 59.77 time in the 200 medley relay.  The record was previously held by Canton in 1995.  Meanwhile ,Lynch won the 200 freestyle, the 100 butterfly and swam on the winning 400 freestyle relay to lead the Lady Larries to the win.
 

DELOSH, WARD LEAD RAIDERS TO WIN VS. GOUVERNEUR


Massena's Aubrey Czajkowski is en route to winning the 200 individual medley race against Gouverneur.  Czajkowski led the Division II-leading Red Raiders to a convincing 71-23 victory over division rival Gouverneur.  Meet Gallery

POTSDAM SWIMMERS RACE PAST RED RAIDERS 120-50


A pair of Potsdam swimmers are neck and neck, less than a full length ahead of a Massena competitor in the freestyle event on Friday at Clarkson University.  Potsdam advances to 4-3 on the season, racing to a big 120-50 win over the Massena Red Raiders.  (Curt Wood photo)  Meet Gallery

The competition is tight across all six lanes in the 100-yard breaststroke event, won by Potsdam's Chambers.

Serenity Davis snagged the 100-yard butterfly and 200 individual medley, while Kelsey Rimmer captured the 100 and 200 freestyle races  in leading Potsdam to a dominating win.  Massena's Aubrey Czajkowski won the 50-yard freestyle and the 200 medley relay.
 

POTSDAM DOUBLES SALMON RIVER SWIMMERS 62-31

Salmon's Alexii Shook competes in the butterfly event.  Amanda Stone led Potsdam with two individual events, the 50 and 100 freestyle, then assisted in wins in the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relays.  Th etop swimmer for Salmon River was Sierra Delormier who won the 100 backstroke and was apart of the winning 400 freestyle relay team.
 

OGDENSBURG SWIMS PAST EDWARDS-KNOX 117-53

Lindsay Drummond and Molly Coryea each captured a win for the Ogdensburg Blue Devils in their victory over the Cougars.  Drummond won the 100 breast and swam one leg in the winning 200 medley relay.  Coryea won the 100 freestyle and took part in the winning 200 freestyle relay win.  For Edwards-Knox, Anne Hawn won the 200 individual medley, Krystina DeVito captured the 500 freestyle.  They combined in efforts to also win the 400 freestyle relay for the Cougars.
 

LARRIES DUMP CANTON 114-56 IN BATTLE OF UNBEATENS

Swimmers from Canton and St. Lawrence Central compete in a freestyle event.  Emily Lynch swam two winning races, the 500 freestyle and 200 individual medley, and swam on two winning relays to pace the Larries at St. Lawrence University. Emilie Norton also won the 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke while swimming on the winning 200 medley relay.
 

O.F.A. MAKES BIG SPLASH IN SWIMMING PAST SALMON


Two divers, one from Ogdensburg (blue) and one from Salmon River jump from their respective starting blocks at virtually the same time.  However, the Blue Devils came in far ahead of the Shamrocks in the final score 120-50.

An Ogdensburg swimmer in the relay competition.  O.F.A.'s Sarah LaFavecaptured the 50 freestyle event, then swam on two winning relays in helping guide the Blue Devils to the win.  Brooke Garrabrant also racked up wins in the 100 backstroke and 200 medley relay.  Salmon River was led by Lauren Adams who won the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly events.

Section X Girls Swimming began on Tuesday with a preseason relay attended by most teams at Franklin Academy in Malone.  The regular swimming season begins on Friday.

LYNCH LEADS LARRIES PAST MALONE SWIMMERS 62-32

A Malone swimmer has a two length lead during the breaststroke competition.  Malone's Julie Haynes captured the 50 and 100 freestyle events, while tagging up with Brand, Johnson and Matthews in winning the 400 freestyle relay.

CANTON TIPS POTSDAM BY SLIM 87-83 IN SEASON OPENER

Canton's Kayla Gerlach won the 50 and 100 freestyle races to pace Canton's slim win.  For Potsdam, Kelsey Rimmer snagged the 200 and 500 freestyle events as the Sandstoners fell to 0-2 on the young season.

A Edwards-Knox swimmer during a backstroke event.  Gouverneur's Casey White won the 100 backstroke and Michelle Smith captured the 50 freestyle in propelling the Wildcats (2-1) to the victory.  Both swam on winning relays as well.  Edwards-Knox was led by Anne Hawn's wins in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke, while Krystina DeVito swept the 200 and 500 events.
 

HODGE LEADS CANTON SWIM VICTORY OVER SALMON 64-29

Canton's Kayley McGovern on the backstroke.  Canton's Marilee Hodge claimed victories in the 50 freestyle and on the 200 free and medley relays to help lead the Golden Bears to their fifth win.  Lauren Adams topped the Salmon River swimmers with wins in the 100 butterfly and a winning 400 freestyle team relay.
