Heat of the 55-Meter Hurdles.  Norwood-Norfolk's Zach Clark won the event, Malone's Justin Marlowe placed second and Canton's Carson Cook was 3rd, all within 6-tenths of a sec.

O.F.A. BLUE DEVILS WINS SECTION X TITLE; SOUTH JEFF #2, MALONE #3


Ogdensburg Boys team celebrates after the announced final scores, topping the ield for the Section X Championship. Led by Running Co-MVP Andy Fisher with wins in the 55-meter dash and 300-meter run, as well as second-place finishes in the 1600-meter relay, boys triple jump and high jump and a sweep of second through fourth places in the boys long jump, the Blue Devils racked up 91 points.  South Jeff was second at 77 and Malone third at 76.  (Harold Leroux photo)

MALONE WINS INVITATIONAL MEET BY 1 POINT IN 20-TEAM COMPETITION


Competitors in one heat of the Boys 1600-meters at the Section X Indoor Track and Field Invitational at St. Lawrence University.  Malone slipped past Ogdensburg by a point to win the overall boys meet comprised of 20 teams.  South Jeff and Clinton came in a close third and fourth place.  Meet Gallery

Competing in the Triple Jump for Indian River were Corey Hall, , Robert Campbell-Groce and D. J. Hall.  Cltinon's Tom Wagner won the event at 45 feet 3.5 inches.  Jake Frederick of Ogdensburg finished second and 43 feet 8 inches.

SOUTH JEFF TIPS OGDENSBURG FOR THIRD WIN IN 4TH MEET OF SEASON

Relay competitors in the 4x800.  The South Jefferson team of Steven Fritton, Ryan Sanders, Kyle Hathaway and Nate Traynor won the event in 8:58.5.  Canton finished second just eight-tenths of a second off the lead pace, while O.F.A. was just three tenths of a second behind Canton in 3rd place.

SOUTH JEFF RETURNS TO TOP OF THE FIELD; MALONE 2ND, O.F.A. 3RD

SECTION X TRACK BRIEFS - WEEK #3

Complete Week 3 Results From Andy Devins

South Jefferson returned to the first-place spot in Meet #3 in boys indoor track, while Malone girls resumed the top slot in the girls division, echoing their top finishes in Meet #1.  Ogdensburg boys, who won Meet #2 was bumped back to second place, while Malone finished a distant third and Norwood-Norfolk stepped up to fourth place.  For the girls, South Jeff finished a close second place at 97 points, just seven points behind the leaders.  At a distance, Indian River, Canton and Gouverneur were tightly bunched in the third, fourth and fifth slots.
 


Ogdensburg's Andy Fisher won the 55-meter dash, while Zach Leffler of Malone finished second with Canton's Damian Abar and Indian River's Tyler Brown finishing in a third-place tie.

OGDENSBURG SURPRISES FIELD CAPTURING FIRST PLACE IN WEEK #2

SECTION X TRACK BRIEFS - WEEK #2

The South Jefferson girls posted 98 points, and the Ogdensburg boys scored 91 points to claim NAC Meet 2 wins Friday at St. Lawrence University. On the girls side, the Malone girls (96) were a close second, and Indian River (55) claimed third. On the boys side, South Jefferson (77) finished second, and Malone (70) took third. The next  contest is Friday, Jan. 11 at S.L.U.
 


Runners from Indian River, Ogdensburg and Massena compete in the 55-meter dash.  Andy Fisher of Ogdensburg captured first-place honors in the event at 6.6 seconds, while Zach Leffler of Malone was two-tenths of a second off the pace.

SECTION X TRACK BRIEFS - WEEK #1

The Malone girls posted 97.5 points, and the South Jefferson boys scored 105.5 points to claim NAC Meet 1 honors Friday at St. Lawrence University. On the girls side, the South Jefferson girls (84) were second, and Canton (58) claimed third. Jessica Farmer (300 meters), Danielle Dumas (1000 meters), and Ashley Lamica (3000 meters) each won individual events for Malone. On the boys side, Greg Burns took the 1600 meters and Ryan Sanders won the 3200 meters for South Jefferson. The next NAC contest is Friday, January 4, 2008 at SLU.
