MASSENA SPLITS BEATING JACKETS, BUT FALLING TO OGDENSBURG


A Massena competitor just clears the bar in the girls high Jump event in Ogdensburg.  Massena defeated Madrid-Waddington, but fell to Ogdensburg in a pair of dual meets .

A Madrid-Waddington shot putter.  Massena captured frist place in seven events to squeeze out a 159-150 win over the Jackets, but narrowly fell to Ogdensburg 161-153.  Emily Sullivan snagged three individual wins and participated in a winning relay.  Teresa Grigg also captured two events.
 

GOUVERNEUR STILL UNBEATEN SWEEPING POTSDAM, RAIDERS


Several sprinters from Gouverneur, Massena and Potsdam bust out of the blocks in the first leg of the girls 100 meter dash in Gouverneur.  Gouverneur stayed unbeaten at 8-0 and pulled even with Malone atop the Section X girls track-and-field standings with a sweep over Potsdam 178-139 and Massena 175-137. Massena’s Emily Sullivan competes in the long jump and takes first place in a tri-meet.  Massena’s Teresa Grigg captured the 100-meter (13.8 seconds) and 200-meter events (27.8) in Fellow Raider Daenna Conger won the 100 hurdles (19.6). Veronica Sapp led Potsdam winning the shot put at 35 feet 5 inches. Sandstoners Madi Dow, Michaela Bartlett, Mariana Choong and Ann Chiarenzelli won their first 1600-meter event of the season at 4:38.8. 
 

MARCELLUS LEADS M-W JACKETS PAST CLIFTON-FINE EAGLES 154-134


Competitors from Madrid-Waddington and Clifton-Fine cross the hurdles  almost in stride during the 400-meter hurdles event.  Katie Marcellus snagged wins in the discus and shot put to lead the Jackets to  154-134 win over the Clifton-Fine Eagles.  Katherin Donovan was a three-event winner to lead the Eagles.  (Eric Foote photo)  Meet Gallery

POTSDAM OUTLASTS TUPPER LAKE 159-136: SAPP LEADS STONER FIELD


Tupper Lake’s Hannah Klossner just clears the bar to win the high jump competition while also tying the school record and 5 feet 3 inches.  Klossner also won the 800.  However, Potsdam defeated Tupper Lake 159-136 in the overall meet.

Tupper Lake’s Kyla Kenyon begins to gain some distance between her and the rest of field during the 100-meter hurdles.  Kenyon won the event, along with the 400 hurdles and the 200 meters.  Potsdam's Veronica Sapp led the way with victories in the shot put and discus.  Other winners: Amanda Moeller captured firsts in the 100 and long jump, while Becky Dukett outran the field in the 1,500 and 3,000 meter races.
 

MALONE WINS 87TH VAN DUSEN; TUPPER FINISHES 2ND; CANTON 3RD


Tupper Lake’s Kayla Kenyon leaps a hurdle during the 400 meter hurdles event.  Kenyon won the event in a time of 1:05.6. Malone athletes dominate the girls Van Dusen results, racking up 136 points.  Tupper lake finished a distance second at 86½,, just edging Canton at 86, in the nine-team field.

M-W YELLOW JACKETS EARN FIRST LEAGUE WIN OVER TUPPER LAKE


Madrid-Waddington hurdler Shelby McIntosh earned a strong second-place finish in the Girls 100 hurdles.  Madrid-Waddington posted its first league win of the Spring Track season with a 148-127 win over Tupper Lake.

Down the stretch, Tupper Lake’s Kyla Kenyon hurdles her way to a first-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles.  Kenyon also won the 400 hurdles and the 200-meter sprint.  Amanda Moeller was a first-place medalist in both the 100 and 400 meters.  For Madrid-Waddington, Laura Orosz won the long-style running events:  the 1500 and 3000 meters.

POTSDAM SWEEPS CANTON &
MADRID-WADDINGTON IN MEET


Runners from Canton, Madrid-Waddington and Potsdam at Thursday's meet in Potsdam.  Potsdam (3-1) swept their home meet, beating Canton 158-147 and Madrid-Waddington 179½-122½.  Veronica Sapp set a school shot put record at 34 feet 6½ inches.  Canton took second with a 154-103 win over the Jackets.   (Russ Merrill Photo)  Meet Gallery

GOUVERNEUR SWEEPS MEET
VS. N-N FLYERS & SALMON RIVER


A Norwood-Norfolk athlete just clears the hurdle with her jump during a hurdles event.  Gouverneur's Megan Morrow swept first place in the 800 and 1500 meter races to lead the Wildcats to a sweep over Norwood Norfolk 182-135 and Salmon River 219-85.  The Flyers topped the Shamrocks 205-97½.

MALONE FENDS OFF TUPPER LAKE AND CLIFTON-FINE FOR DUALS WINS


A pair of Malone hurdlers led the heat during Friday's meet in Malone.  Kaylie Lamica won the 400 hurdles and grabbed victory in the 3,000-meters to lead the Huskies to a sweep of Tupper Lake and Clifton-Fine.  The Lumberjacks finished in second place.  Tupper Lake's Amanda Moeller finished first in the long jump and 100 meters while Kyla Kenyon captured the 200 and 400 meters.  (Kyle Coryea photo)   Meet Gallery

MALONE HUSKIES ROLL PAST POTSDAM IN MEET: 188-125


  A Malone competitor in the long jump at Franklin Academy on Tuesday,   Malone's Bridget Gravel won the event along with 200-meter dash and the triple jump as the Huskies dropped the Potsdam Sandstoners 188-125. For Potsdam, Veronica Sapp claimed the shot put event, while finishing third in the discus.  Michaela Bartlett finished second in both the 100 and 400 meter races.
