MASSENA'S 10-PIN WIN BOWLS OVER MALONE HUSKIES

Massena got pins from Steven LaClair, Travis Metott, Kevin Beaudoin, Drew Gayeskie, Darin Delosh, Mike Perry Phil and Tom Barriero, Sawyer Clauson and Jon Ashley.

Malone's Darren Fullum logged the lone Huskies' pin on the night against Massena's Robert Rochefort.  Cody James collected Malone's other three points with a 10-4 win over Zach Wiley.
 

GOUVERNEUR WRESTLERS DROP O.F.A. BLUE DEVILS 60-5

Gouverneur also got pins from Dylan Morrison (119), Corey Storie (152) and Carl Devito (215 pounds).  Ogdensburg's lone points came on a pin from Andy Rickett at 112 pounds.
 

MASSENA UPENDS MALONE TO CLINCH 2ND PLACE IN DIVISION


The Massena Red Raiders got six pins on their way to a 48-10 win over the Malone Huskies in the lone wrestling match on Tuesday night.  The win clinches second place in Section X.  Mike Perry, Jon Ashley, Steven LaClair, Zach Wiley and Kevin Beaudoin and gained pins.  (Jon Schriver photo)  Meet Gallery

Malone received match points when Rob Recore outpointed Sawyer Clausen 12-2.  Andrew Rust and Darren Delosh each won by decision accounting for Malone's 10 points.

Massena improved its record to 6-2 and clinched at least a second-place finish on the season, while Malone fell to 1-7.
 

GOUVERNEUR WRESTLERS DOMINATE CANTON-POTSDAM

Gouverneur's Cory Storie leg locks Canton's Ramsey Locke in the 152-pound weight class.  Storie went on to record a 6-2 decision.  Gouverneur won eight straight bouts in the win.

The Canton-Potsdam Bears came away with just pin from Aaron Brown at 112 pounds and Shawn Brown's 9-3 decision over David Sleeman in the 125-pound weight class. Gouverneur pins were forged by Dylan Morrison, Duane Roberts, Zach Cummings, Carson Gates, Tim Fairbanks and Carl Devito.

At the 215-pound weight class, John Dobbins of Massena pinned Canton-Potsdam's John Bressett at 4:35.  Other Massena wins by pinfall: Travis Metott, Robert Rochefort, Michael Perry, Tom Barreiro and Jon Ashley.  Canton-Potsdam's win by pin came from Eb Foote, Shawn Brown and Nick Butler, while Aaron Brown and Brendon Kelly won by decision (points)

ADIRONDACK, GOUVERNEUR TOPS AT N.C. INVITATIONAL


Aaron Brown of Canton wins on points 12-6 over Matt Gray of Indian River in the 112 class. Canton-Potsdam finished eighth overall, second-best from Section X behind 2nd-place Gouverneur at the North Country Tournament at Indian River. Adirondack won the tourney.  (Ed Smith photo)  Meet Gallery

Carl Devito of Gouverneur captured the overall title in the 215 pound class with a 2-1 decision Tom Freeman of Lowville.

Canton-Potsdam's Shawn Brown defeated Peyton Amato of Indian River in a regular decision, 3-0, in the 125-pound class. 

Gouverneur's Duane Roberts won a squeaker in overtime defeating Beaver River's Devin Widrick 2-1 at 135 pounds.

The two finalists in the 140-pound weight class were both from Section X:  Mike Perry of Massena won a 9-4 decision over Troy Cunningham of Ogdensburg.

Ben Hoffman of Gouverneur won by pin over John Kiskiel from Adirondack in the 285-pound weight class.
 

GOUVERNEUR DENIES RAIDER GRAPPLERS IN 37-28 VICTORY


Dylan Morrison of Gouverneur wins by pin over Travis Metott in the 119-pound weight class.  Gouverneur scored wins in seven of 13 bouts to outlast the Massena Red Raiders 37-28.  After just two meets, only Gouverneur remains undefeated.  Four teams are tied for second place at 1-1 in one of Section X's tightest divisions in years.  (Ed Smith photo)  Meet Gallery

Massena got mat wins from Michael Perry, shown above in an arm lock vs. Gouverneur's Tyler Weaver.  Perry won by pinfall in the 145 pound class.  Steve LaClair, Kevin Beaudoin, Tom Barriero and Jon Ashley also won for Massena.  Gouverneur posted other mat wins from Dwyane Roberts, Zach Cummings, Cory Storie, Carson Gates and Carl Devito.

MALONE SCORES FIRST WIN
IN 3 YEARS, BEATING EAGLES

Clifton-Fine's Everett Dowling rises from under Malone's Luke Chapman and flips him to the mat for a short-term advantage.  Chapman pinned Dowling at 2:43 of the night's first match.

Malone's Andrew Rust (white) pinned the Eagles' Ryan Tanner at 1:43 of his match.  The Eagles with wins by Ryan Leroux, Evan Popham and Jacob Demmon took a short-lived 18-12 lead early in the meet.  However, Dan Tower and Tyler Marshall snagged pins that helped seal the Huskies' win.  The the Eagles, John McCargar logged a pin, while Coal Tristram and John Eibert won their matches by decision (points).
 

OGDENSBURG ON THE RISE: BEATS CANTON-POTSDAM 32-28


Ogdensburg’s Troy Cunningham attempts to get Canton-Potsdam’s Ramsey Locke under control, Cunningham went on to win the match 3-0.  The Blue Devils went on to defeat defending regular season champion Canton-Potsdam 32-28 on Wednesday night.  (Eric Foote photo)  Meet Gallery

Canton-Potsdam’s Rob Dargie attempts to get O.F.A.’s Liam Rickett back down to the mat. Dargie went on to a 13-0 victory.

Ogdensburg’s Andy Rickett and Canton-Potsdam’s Eb Foote roll up onto their shoulders in the center of the mat. Rickett won the match on a technical fall 21-6.  The Blue Devils posted six wins and overcame four forfeits in posting their first win (1-1).  Connor Ives, Josh Mitchell  Nick TenEyck and Josh Heaton posted wins for O.F.A.  Brandon Kelly and Nick Butler scored victories on the mat for Canton-Potsdam.

MASSENA TAKES DOWN C-F EAGLES IN SEASON OPENER


Massena's Tom Barreiro (red)  Gets a solid hold on Clifton-Fine's Coal Tristram for a quick takedown and pin in Tuesday night's opener at Massena.  Clifton-Fine took the first few matches, but the Raiders came back to sweep the remainder down the stretch in a 51-11 opening night victory.

Massena's Phil Barreiro also captured his match, pinning his opponent, Dylan Wilmarth at 0:49 of the first round.

In the 171 pound class, Massena's Shane Burnett gets Clifton-Fine's Dowling in a painful arm lock, just before the pin at 1:00.

Clifton-Fine's Casey Forkey lifts Massena's Darin Delosh and drops him to the mat.  Delosh clawed his way back to snag the game-winning point in the last seconds of play.

Referee Phalon Miner slaps the mat to indicate a pin.  Massena's Michael Perry defeated C-F's Devin Moore at 0:59.
