CANTON For 92-28 victory
Swimmers from Canton (black) and
Gouverneur (blue & gold) dive into the
pool to begin the 100 yard freestyle
event. The event was won by Gouverneur's
Riley Shepard posting a time of 27.28.

Gouverneur’s Riley Shepherd won the 50
free and 100 free. Teammate Wyatt Slate
captured the 100 butterfly and 100
breast stroke, and the Wildcats’ Chase
Tuttle topped the 100 backstroke.
For Canton, Dallin Simpson won the 200
individual medley, and Matthew Tupper
took the gold in the 500 free. In the
relays, Gouverneur won the 200 medley
with the team Tuttle, Slate,
John-Michael Leeder and Carter Lumley.
Shepherd, Lumley, Slate and Gavin Warren
captured first in both the 200 free
medley and 400 freestyle relays.

A neck-and-neck finish in the boys 200
freestyle race. It was the last
home swim meet in Canton's pool that has
held events for over 40 years. The
school opens a new pool facility this
coming fall. With 168 points,
AuSable Valley won the meet, followed by
Gouverneur at 145, Plattsburgh 110 and
Canton-Lisbon-Potsdam at 70.
Gouverneur’s Riley Shepherd captured the
100 butterfly, and Gavin Warren won the
500 free. AuSable winners included
Konner Facteau in the 200 and 100
freestyle events , Shawn-Paul Hanson
captured the 200 individual medley and
100 breast-stroke, and Alex Perras won
the 50 free and 100 backstroke. In the
relays, AuSable won the 200 medley and
200 freestyle, while Canton bested the
